lux/in her name.

Gender inequality comes in all shapes and forms. And sometimes it starts at birth. In China, with the influence of the former one child policy, boys are strongly preferred over girls, resulting boys to receive powerful names and girls submissive and sexist ones like Yà Nán (Inferior to men) and WÄ“i (Tiny).

We challenged this centuries-old convention by creating 100 new females names, encouraging women to choose their own identities by changing their names and empowering their newborn daughters.
